Nicole Polizzi, famously known as Snooki, announced her exit from the reality show Jersey Shore on her It’s Happening with Snooki & Joey podcast after a decade.
In a candid interview with the AV club, Snooki opened up about how “mentally draining” it was to film Jersey Shore and added that she would never do a version that features her children Lorenzo, 8, Giovanna, 6, and Angelo, 1. Snooki further revealed that she kept her family life out of the public eye as her husband Jionni LaValle was never one for fame and reality television.
Snooki also spoke about the nightmarish filming schedule of the show since most of her co-stars are now parents. She was adamant about the fact that she would not take her children out of school just for a part in a reality TV series and is currently happy with her life.
The ex-Jersey Shore actress acknowledged that she wasn’t there for her three children as the filming schedule demanded a lot of time away from them. She finally had enough when her haters told her they expected her kids would get bullied.
In another interview with E! News, Snooki admitted that she needed a break from the “bad girls’ club drama.” She elucidated how the “partying three days in a row” was just not for her anymore and emphasized how her busy schedule impacted her oldest son Lorenzo’s mental health. “I want to be home with the kids,” she said in 2019, per OK magazine.
Snooki also spoke about how negative the show had become due to the overblown drama. Emphasizing Jersey Shore is all about family and having a good time with loved ones, she was dismayed by fans arguing about the best castmate and her portrayal on the show.
Jersey Shore has been renewed for a fourth season without Snooki. Only time will tell whether the show will go on.
