Happy Gilmore recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, and fans want to see what the titular character is up to now.
While appearing on the Dan Patrick Show, Adam Sandler was asked about the possibility of working up another Happy Gilmore movie. He would love to do it, and he realizes that the fans have been clamoring for the film as well. It seems like a very likely possibility at this point, but it’s not in the works right now.
“It has not been discussed,” Sandler said, “But it has been discussed on the internet and believe me, that senior tour idea, it would be amazing to go around.”
Dan Patrick asked if he can green light the sequel to Happy Gilmore, and Sandler replied: “Yes. Yes, you can greenlight this…I don’t know if [we can do it],” but then he was cut off.
Chris McDonald, who played arrogant golfer Shooter McGavin in the original film, said: “Yes, I am double in. Yes, I would love to do it. Everyone’s been screaming for it, like Adam said, on the internet. I just gotta say, it would be a complete blast, the Senior Tour with us too, oh my god.”
The movie isn’t 100% going to happen, but there is certainly interest. Adam Sandler has also heard that interest, and he knows that there could be a lot of fun in that movie as well.
Fingers crossed.
