American singer R. Kelly has been in prison for quote some time now, but it seems his condition might be better than others in the safety of his jail cell.
According to a report by TMZ, Kelly has managed to receive his second COVID-19 vaccine recently. The singer received the dosage from the Bureau of Prisons at MCC Chicago, where he is currently residing while waiting for trial.
It was said that R. Kelly got the first dosage in January and second dosage this month. As stated by the BOP, around 63 inmates at MCC Chicago have been given both dosages of the vaccine, as well as 128 staff members.
R. Kelly had previously tried on two separate occasions to get released from prison, around the time the pandemic began. However, his efforts proved to be in vain as his pleas were denied due to the risk of contracting the disease.
The singer’s trial is set to take place in September for charges with nine counts that include racketeering and eight violations of the Mann Act, which prohibits sexual trafficking across state lines.
