George Floyd died as officer Derek Chauvin had his knee on the back of his neck, sparking a nationwide outcry for police reform. Chauvin’s trial is set to begin soon and they aren’t taking any chances with security.

The courthouse in downtown Minneapolis is being barricaded by fencing, complete with barbed wire. As TMZ reports, the barricade looks similar to the one currently surrounding the U.S. Capitol.

Chauvin’s murder trial is set to start in the next few weeks, and they want to block the public from getting too close. There are a lot of unpredictable factors that could result in calamity if things go wrong.

The blockade consists of non-scalable fencing with barbed wire. They are also using concrete barricades. Plenty of boards were used as well.

The courtroom inside has also been upgraded for the pandemic situation. As you can see in the video below, provided by FOX 9’s Paul Blume, they have installed plexiglass dividers and spaced out seating. Hand sanitizer dispensers are also readily available.
