Taylor Swift fans are very protective of her, and they aren’t about to let her take any shade. This resulted in quite a backlash after the Netflix show Ginny & Georgia made a remark about the famous singer.

The scene in question featured one character quipping to another: “Who do you care? You go through men faster than Taylor Swift.” That triggered quite a few of Taylor’s stans, to say the least.

Swift’s love life has been a focal point since she became a pop megastar. The singer has also been romantically linked to a few high profile celebs. That doesn’t make it fodder for humor in the eyes of Taylor’s legion of fans.

Taylor Swift also commented on this line in the Ginny & Georgia series to show how much she appreciated the little dig. She was not amused.

Hey Ginny & Georgia, 2010 called and it wants its lazy, deeply sexist joke back. How about we stop degrading hard working women by defining this horse shit as FuNnY. Also, @netflix after Miss Americana this outfit doesn’t look cute on you

Happy Women’s History Month I guess

The episode, which debuted on Feb 24th, brought rage from T Swift fans all over social media. This short one-liner reference might not have been worth it considering the backlash they received.

With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
