Welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd has reportedly filed for divorce from his wife Alice Evans after she announced their split via a messy social media post.
The Fantastic 4 actor reportedly filed legal documents to end his marriage in Los Angeles Superior Court. Certain aspects of the divorce remain unclear such as if Alice is asking for child/spousal support or whether the estranged couple had a prenuptial agreement.
The messy social media post that Alice made on Twitter in January read:
“My beloved husband/soulmate of 20 years, Ioan Gruffudd, has announced he is to leave his family, starting next week. Me and our young daughter’s girls are very confused and sad. We haven’t been given a reason except that he ‘no longer loves me.’ I’m so sorry.”
In a joint statement released by Gruffudd and Evans, the duo asked that their privacy be respected.
“As you can imagine, this is an incredibly difficult time for our family and we remain committed to our children. Thank you for respecting our privacy.”
Alice also issued a few statements regarding the separation on Instagram, where she opens up about missing Ioan.
