William Zabka Reveals Interesting Pat Morita Pitch For Karate Kid 5

William Zabka is famous for his role as Johnny Lawrence in The Karate Kid franchise as well as Cobra Kai. He was Daniel LaRusso’s main enemy and rival in the aforementioned series.

While being interviewed by Collider last year, Zabka revealed that he was given several pitches regarding how his Johnny Lawrence character would be portrayed, including teaming up with Mr. Miyagi, played by Pat Morita.

“I had so many people that had ideas for Johnny Lawrence teaming up with Miyagi,”

He then revealed an interesting pitch made by Pat Morita himself for The Karate Kid Part V. Zabka said that Morita called him one day and gave the following pitch:

“Actually, you know, what my favorite one was really. Pat Morita himself had an idea. He wasn’t done with Miyagi yet, and this was in his, you know, last years,”

‘’B.Z. B.Z., I have a great idea for a Karate Kid 4, you know, a Karate Kid 5. You know, I want — Miyagi’s going to die.’”

“And he wanted him to have a proper Okinawan burial, but while he’s sick, he saw Johnny Lawrence as being his doctor.”

Despite the idea not being made a reality, Zabka certainly loved the idea nonetheless.

“And I thought that was interesting. That was probably actually the wildest idea I couldn’t imagine coming from Pat Morita. It was awesome.”

Cobra Kai’s much-awaited fourth season is already underway and we will have to see when the season will finally make its way onto the streaming service.
