During UFC 259, Tim Elliott faced off against Jordan Espinosa in a standard match. However, what happened during the match is what made headlines recently.
When Tim Elliott got Jordan Espinosa on the ground, Elliott appeared to say:
“I heard you choked your girl in 2018. Are you a woman beater? She messaged me.”
Jordan Espinosa responded by saying: “Did she? You don’t know the whole story.” To this Elliott said: “I know enough.”
Elliott went on to win the match by unanimous decision. After the conclusion of the match, Espinosa’s manager, Bryan Hamper, described the allegation as “Reckless slander.”
Here is what Elliott had to say regarding the matter after the match ended. The UFC fighter said that he was sent messages and photos between Espinosa and a woman and there were photos of the woman with choke marks around her neck.
“I didn’t say that for anybody else to hear, because I don’t know the whole story.”
“… it’s not something I wanted the whole world to hear. That was supposed to be between him and I. I didn’t know the mic was going to pick up on it.”
Accidents happen and it seems Elliott currently regrets what he said during the heat of the moment.
