Connecticut Mother Arrested After Allegedly Strangling 4-Year-Old Son

Motherhood can be one of the best things to happen to someone, but only if they are truly cut out for it. It seems a Connecticut mother definitely was not cut out for it as she apparently murdered her four-year-old-son.

Tiffany Farrauto, 33, was arrested by police on Sunday morning after the mother told police that she ”strangled” her four-year-old-son, who was found dead in their apartment as stated by the police.

As stated by a New London Police Department press release in Connecticut, police were called to a parking lot of 242 Nautilus Dr., New London after they received reports of a woman hitting a vehicle with a baseball bat.

After police officers made their way to the scene, it was stated that Farrauto, “informed police that she had ‘strangled’ her four (4) year son and he was in the apartment.” Police quickly made their way to the apartment where they found an “unconscious and unresponsive young male child.” The child was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead soon after arrival.

New London Police Chief Peter Reichard said Farrauto told responding officers, “take me away.” The mother “indicated that she harmed her son and that her son was in the apartment.”

I talked to the officers first arrived at the scene. They were choked up by it, all of them there have children. A couple of them have children the same age, and it hits home, it hits you right in the guts. I then proceeded to the emergency room myself where several more of my officers and the entire emergency room staff were there. It hits home with them too and they do these things every day. It’s not easy.

Initial charges against the mother included two counts of criminal mischief. After the police investigation, she was also charged with murder and risk of injury to a minor. Farrauto is currently being held on a $1 million bond.
