Tampa Bay Buccaneers star Rob Gronkowski is one of the best players for his team and now it seems he is trying to capitalize on the recent boom for the sports-related digital memorabilia market.
While speaking to TMZ Sports, the four-time Super Bowl champion revealed to the world his new side business. Gronkowski, along with his business partners Adam Richman and Joe Silberzweig has partnered up with Gronkowski’s friend Black Madre in order to create five limited edition trading cards.
They will be entirely digital in nature, as part of his Championship Series NFT Collection. They are digital cards that cannot be duplicated, which the Buccaneers star believes is the future of the trading card world.
“I think having digital trading cards now is just gonna be unique and it’s gonna blow it out of the water. Actual trading cards, I think will always be there, but I think it’s leading towards a way where everything’s digital.”
Gronkowski will be putting his five cards up for sale on the cryptocurrency marketplace called OpenSea.io, on Thursday 7 PM ET. The cards in question are hand-drawn artwork celebrating his Super Bowl XLIX, LI, LIII, and LV championships.
