UFC 259 saw Bantamweight Champion Petr Yan defend his title against Aljamain Sterling. Unfortunately, the match ended in controversy as Yan hit Sterling with an illegal knee during the 4th round.
Due to this, Sterling was awarded the Championship via disqualification – a matter he didn’t like whatsoever. He also faced a lot of negative backlash from fellow UFC fighters who didn’t like the way Aljamain won the title.
The MMA world as a whole have not been all that happy with Aljamain’s victory after a combination of his post-fight interview and pictures being released of him with the belt.
While speaking in a recent interview with MMA Fighting, Sterling aired his frustrations and stated that no one understands what he went through. He fired back at UFC fights who blasted him in the past, including Daniel Cormier.
Now it seems Daniel Cormier responded to what Sterling said. He simply told the Bantamweight Champion to take time off the internet.
“Young brother @funkmasterMMA just get off the internet bro. You don’t need to explain, it isn’t helping. We will talk, it’s what we do. You have to just leave it alone! Enjoy your time, recover, spend time with your family and just relax. Can’t fight every battle”.
Hopefully, all the hate against Aljamain will be gone soon enough. As reported earlier, a rematch between him and Petr Yan will be happening as soon as possible.
