We live a day when a few things from our past just don’t age well. Disney has examples of this throughout their library, and now they realize that some of that material might not be the best for kids.

Subscribers of Disney+ discovered that some films including Peter Pan, Dumbo, and The Aristocats are now blocked for accounts registered for children under 7. Certain imagery and themes from those films are now deemed offensive.

Peter Pan has long been criticized because of now Native Americans are portrayed. The crows from Dumbo have also been called out on several occasions. One of them is actually named Jim Crow. Even Family Guy took a dig at those crows for being racist.

Cartoons aren’t the only films getting slapped with this age restriction. The classic Swiss Family Robinson is also restricted.

Those films were not taken off the Disney+ platform. They are only restricted for accounts registered for children under 7. That won’t stop some people from crying out in another instance of cancel culture.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
