Miami Heat’s Meyers Leonard became a subject of controversy after he used an anti-Semitic slur while streaming Call Of Duty on Twitch. Due to this, he was indefinitely suspended by Miami Heat until further notice. Now it seems Leonard is genuinely making good on his promise to correct his ways.
According to TMZ, Leonard has reached out to people who can help educate him about the Jewish community.
It was said that he has been in contact with rabbis to Holocaust survivors and even Julian Edelman, who recently reached out to Leonard and invited him to a Shabbat dinner.
It was said that he will definitely go have the Shabbat dinner with Edelman. It was further stated that the impression Leonard is leaving on people is that the player is legitimately apologetic about what he said and is determined to understand the severity of the anti-Semitic slur Leonard used.
It is certainly great to see that Leonard learned the error of his ways and is striving to become a better person.
