OTT plaform Netflix has undoubtedly taken over the movie rental industry and definitely seem to have not stopped there.
In a pretty bold move, Netflix is releasing a documentary about the last Blockbuster. The film titled The Last Blockbuster will feature never-before-seen footage of employees, fans, and more.
The trailer looks promising, filled with nostalgic moments that capture the good old times when adults and kids would flock to rent their favorite films.
The only remaining Blockbuster in the world is located in Bend, Oregon. In a Facebook post by the documentary’s official page, claims were made of an opportunity to purchase Netflix.
“A lot of people know that Blockbuster had the chance to buy Netflix early on and they passed on the opportunity. In an ironic twist of fate, our movie The Last Blockbuster is coming to Netflix one week from today. We are beyond excited for people to get to see this tribute to era of home video on the world’s largest streaming service. Just don’t forget to rewind it when you’re done watching it and bring it back by noon on Wednesday.”
Online streaming is set to take over the entertainment industry especially with the direct release of new movies on OTT platforms. However, with the crackdown on Netflix’s usability, who knows what will happen. The Last Blockbuster will premier on Netflix on March 15.
