Elvis Presley remains one of the most influential musicians to have ever stepped foot inside the world of music. It seems Presley’s memorabilia will be going on sale at an auction and is expected to sell for a lot of money.
According to TMZ, Kruse GWS Auctions will be handling the auction of Elvis’ rare cherry red Hagstrom Viking II guitar. Old school fans would remember Presley using the guitar when he shot the highly anticipated TV special on NBC. It marked his return to the music industry after taking a 7-year-long break.
There is certainly a lot of history behind the guitar as well. It was featured on the cover of his “From Elvis in Memphis” album cover and was also displayed at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum.
The bidding for the guitar will commence on March 27 and the winner of the auction will also get sheet music from the ’68 TV special. Kruse GWS currently believes that the guitar will sell between $750k and $1 million.
We will have to see which devoted fan of Elvis Presley gets to own the iconic guitar for themselves.
