Rihanna remains one of the most popular singers in the music industry right now. However, she can certainly frustrate devoted fans who want more frequent releases from her. Her last released album was Anti which was way back in 2016.
Rihanna has been teasing the release of her next album called R9 for quite a while now, but details have been sparse and it seems Rihanna’s desire to have more freedom might have delayed it even further.
The New York Post reached out to a representative at her label Roc Nation regarding the status of her upcoming R9 album. What the representative had to say certainly won’t make fans happy.
“Don’t know … haven’t heard anything.”
Memsor Kamarake, a stylist who has worked with Rihanna in the past explained why she takes so much time to release an album.
“You know how Sade drops an album, we love it and then she disappears to the English countryside every five or six years?” “That’s Rihanna. She’s become bigger than the music.”
Rihanna is also not scheduled to appear for tonight’s Grammy Awards ceremony. We will have to see when she will decide to release her R9 album and give fans something to be happy about.
