UFC 259 saw Bantamweight Champion Petr Yan defend his title against Aljamain Sterling in the third last fight of the event at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas last week.
The ended ended in a shocking manner as Yan hit Sterling with an illegal knee during the 4th round. Due to this unexpected move, Sterling was awarded the Championship via disqualification. Sterling didn’t have it easy after his win as he was bombarded with insults and taunts.
Sterling previously blasted Petr Yan for wanting a rematch against him after what happened. Petr Yan decided to return the favor as he took to Twitter and uploaded a fan-shared clip of a punch which Yan landed on Sterling. He had the following caption as well:
“You can’t hit what you can’t see”
Sterling saw the clip and decided to reply to it, as he claimed it was the only good shot Yan managed to hit. On the other hand, Sterling claimed to have hit Yan 20 times.
Your best shot of the night, outside of the knee. I got over confident after I hit you 20 times and you couldn’t hit me. I thought it was a joke. You surprised me there. Good shotQuote Tweet
Dana White had earlier said that UFC is working on having a rematch between the two take place as soon as possible. We will have to see when the match will happen.
