Cardi B is definitely a very popular rapper and her music has reached people all over the world. However, she is not without her fair share of controversies.
The rapper’s performance of “W.A.P” with Megan Thee Stallion at the Grammy Awards has been slammed by both critics and fans, especially many from Fox News, notably conservative commentator Candace Owens.
However, instead of being demoralized by all the negative press surrounding her, Cardi B is thriving in it. It seems she also has something to be very happy about as the rapper’s latest single Up just hit platinum status as it has sold over 1 million units in the US.
It is likely her momentum will carry onto the rapper’s sophomore album as next month it will be three years since the release of her debut, Invasion of Privacy.
While speaking to Beats 1’s Zane Lowe last month, Cardi B made it clear she is trying to release a new album sometime this year.
“I really wanted to put out an album last year, but I feel like I don’t have the right songs,” she said. “I recorded so many songs, I think I got like 50 songs recorded. If I’m not satisfied, I’m just not satisfied. I really want to put out an album this year and I feel like I have no choice now. Now, I feel like I’ve exceeded my limit of holdings. I just need to stop with the fear.”
We will have to see when Cardi B will finally release a new album as her fans have been eagerly waiting for something new from the rapper.
