A lot has changed since Eminem dropped “My Name Is” in 1999. Now a new version exists for 2021.

The “My Name Is” lyrics are engrained in the heads of fans all over the world. Now there are some new words to memorize that can go in place of those famous lines. Spice Girls were replaced by “K-Pop girl,” and that’s just one of the modern replacements in the song.

“Wanna see me stick Nine inch Nails, through each one of my eyelids?” Not anymore. Now the lyric is “wanna see me dye my hair bright green just like Billie Eilish?” Also, the reference to acid was replaced with “lean,” because that’s a much bigger problem in rap music now.

This track was created using AI technology and uploaded onto then 30 Hertz YouTube channel. It’s pretty crazy what they can do with modern-day advancements, and now it’s literally writing new culture into a classic song.

Sadly, this track only includes the first verse, but it’s still a pretty great listen. You can check it out below. We’ve also included the original version from Eminem.

H Jenkins

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
