Now it seems with the announcement of his retirement, The Eagle has made history in the world of MMA. As revealed by MMA History Today’s Twitter handle, Nurmagomedov is now the first-ever fighter to retire while having the #1 spot in the pound-for-pound rankings.

Nurmagomedov had earlier mentioned that one of his biggest achievements will be retire as an undisputed champion, while being the No.1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
“I know only one thing I want from UFC, you guys have to be me on No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world, because I deserve this. UFC undisputed, undefeated lightweight champion, 13-0, 13 in UFC, 29 in all pro MMA career. I think I deserve it,” Khabib Nurmagomedov said after his win over Gaethje at UFC 254.
It seems the Russian fighter certainly got his wish. We will have to see what is next in store for Khabib now that he is done with the world of MMA.
