After the surprising release of Justice League’s Snyder Cut, fans are left wondering how the story would have went on. While the director’s cut is twice as long and radically different from the theatrical release, it featured many sequences which essentially set up later events for the sequels.
Warner Bros. are not going to be following up on Zack Snyder’s plan for future sequels – since Robert Pattison is already playing the Batman in the Matt Reeves movie that’s already done with the shooting phase – Warner Bros. Chairman Ann Sarnoff revealed that there were blueprints for how future DCEU movies would have played out.
After many whiteboards surfaced online providing some rough blueprints for future movies, fans started to put them together. The whiteboards reveal that the plan for the Justice League arc was to take place in 5 movies, while showing how the Knightmare sequences fit into the story.
After the end of Justice League, we’re left with the appearance of Lex Luthor teaming up with Deathstroke against Batman, Darkseid planning to conquer Earth as well as the Martian Manhunter randomly appearing at the doorstep of Bruce Wayne to offer his help against the future event.
The Knightmare sequence shows a world which has already been conquered by Darkseid and Mera, Batman, Deathstroke, Cyborg & The Flash have all teamed up to reach an undefined place. According to Snyder’s blueprint, the Batman movie would have featured the struggle between Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke & Batman in a David Fincher’s ‘The Game’ styled movie.
Justice League 2 would have been where the Knightmare dream sequence would have turned into the world’s reality. Darkseid would have killed conquered Earth, killed Lois Lane as well as seized the Anti-Life Equation for himself, while also having killed Aquaman.
The plan of Batman’s team would have been to steal a motherbox, using which The Flash would have made a cosmic treadmill to undo the death of Lois Lane, bringing back Superman to his senses and then leading up to the fight against Darkseid.
In Justice League 3, the fight between Darkseid and the Justice League would have ended. The forces of Atlantis and Themyscira along with Earth’s own forces would have taken up the fight against Darkseid and the forces of Apokolips. With Batman sacrificing himself in order to defeat Darkseid, Lois and Clark would go on to name their son Bruce Kent, who has no kryptonian powers whatsoever. He would go on to grow up and take the mantle of Batman and protect the city of Gotham, thereby bringing the arc of Bruce Wayne and the Justice League’s war against Darkseid to a conclusion.
