Billie Eilish’s brother Finneas revealed why the pop sensation decided to get rid of her punky green-haired look and instead chose a rather eccentric blonde look. A few weeks after her Grammy win, the 19-year-old singer took to posting a selfie with her new look on Instagram.
TMZ ended up catching her brother Finneas stepping out of Blue Bottle Coffee in Los Angeles. As they asked him to explain why did Billie choose such a radical direction with her look, he explained:
Hair is the easiest way to feel like you’re evolving as a person. Whenever you change your hair style or dye it a different color you feel like you’re growing up a bit. Yeah I think so, it took a long time, a lot of different sessions. They wanted to do it really healthy … I think it looks great.
Billie Eilish’s picture on Instagram where she revealed her new look became one of the most liked pictures on the platform, which is a testament to the fact that her fans really do like her a lot.
Finneas said that the fans were so much into the green-haired look because “the green roots were such a recognizable thing.” He went on to say that changes really excite people and fixate their attention greatly.
Whenever there’s a point of change, people get excited and fixated on it, but I think it’s deserving it looks really great.
When TMZ prompted the question of when Billie’s next album will be coming out, he unfortunately didn’t share any insights with them, saying “You’d have to ask her.” Looks like fans might have to wait a bit before the next potentially Grammy-winning award gets announced.
