Mark Wahlberg is 49 years old, and yet he’s extremely fit and healthy. After he revealed on his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on April 8th that he has a new role to prepare for and he is expected to put on about 30 lbs. or so, he knows just how to do it.
While he told Kimmel that they want to make him pick up the weight in the healthiest manner as possible, he doesn’t exactly need that, and he said that he wants ‘to go to Denny’s’ in order to pick up all that weight. He said:
After we do the boxing scenes, I get to put on as much weight as possible over the course of the film, so I’m challenging myself to put on 30 pounds in the next six weeks.
Since Wahlberg is going to play a boxer first, he needs to be in top shape for that. However, the story goes into the future a bit where Mark has now turned into a priest who has left boxing behind. He continued:
They want me to do it as healthy as possible and I’m like ‘Dude, I’ve been on such a regimen for so long, I just want to eat everything in sight,’” he added. “I want to go bakeries. I want to go to Denny’s. I want to get pancakes. I want to get everything I can possibly get my hands on.
While Denny’s is going to be his go-to destination after he starts to pick up his weight, he jokingly said that his first meal in order to pack some weight is going to be the Kentucky Fried Chicken’s “20-piece chicken nugget and 20-piece hot wings” & “a six-pack of beer.”
