Zack Snyder’s vision which was shown in its full glory in the Snyder Cut version of the Justice League made its way to HBO Max last month and it received tons of praise from fans and critics alike. It was a very long and difficult journey for Snyder to finally release the film.
Joss Whedon’s version of the film received a lot of criticism from fans and critics and it was also not without its fair share of controversy during the production process. A screen writer had previously mentioned how Whedon vandalized the film.
Now it seems Snyder’s version almost accidentally would have included a very infamous dialogue from Whedon’s version. While speaking on The Rough Cut Podcast, editors David Brenner ACE, Dody Dorn ACE, and Carlos Castillón revealed that Whedon’s controversial “you smell good” line almost made its way into the Snyder Cut. The line was spoken when Superman came back to life and met Lios Lane again at his farm.
It was said that one of the mixers accidentally pulled over ADR from the theatrical cut when working on Snyder’s version. Producer Deborah Snyder caught it on one of the final evaluation of the film and said, “[Lois] shouldn’t be saying that! It doesn’t matter how he smells!“
Due to the immense success of the film, we certainly hope Warner Bros will consider making more films with Snyder at the helm in the future.
