Vin Diesel is currently one of the most popular actors in Hollywood and is also a legitimate tough guy as presented by his roles in the Fast & Furious films. However, it seems Vin Diesel’s neighbors aren’t too appreciative of his hired security team.
According to TMZ, the actor is renting a place in a gated community in the Dominican Republic, and neighbors in the community are complaining that the actor has 12 aggressive security guards protecting him and his family.
One of the neighbors wrote a sternly-worded letter to Vin Diesel, where he complained about a recent incident that took place on Easter. It was said that the guards blocked pedestrians and traffic so that the actor and his children could ride their bicycles.
“For a few weeks I have personally witnessed and heard from fellow homeowners the unprecedented and abusive display of your security people around our homes and beach. Interrogating us, blocking our street with five or six SUV’s. Stopping residents while walking when you ride your bicycle.”
“In over ten years the homeowners in Fundadores Juanillo Beach have never endured and suffered such absurd comportment by anyone renting a home in our very small, private and very secure community.”
The man also added a tinge of sarcasm to his final paragraph.
“You should know that you are visiting a community where no one is a threat to you, or anyone else that visits us.”
As stated by a source close Diesel, the actor has been going to the Dominican Republic for over two decades and is said to have gotten along well with everyone there.
Regarding the Easter incident, it was said that the actor and his children were handing out Easter baskets to workers in the community. There was extra security that day due to the actor’s whole family being there.
It was also stated that the actor never intended to inconvenience his neighbors as he loves the community. Diesel’s hired security are all from the Dominican Republic as he wanted to help employ people in the area. It seems this was a case of a simple misunderstanding. We will have to see if the actor will issue a statement regarding the complaint.
