Eazy-E’s Daughter Calls Out Ice Cube for Dodging Interviews for Eazy-E’s Documentary

Eazy-E is one of the truest OG’s of rap. Since in his legendary career, he was responsible for making West Coast & Gangsta Rap into popular music styles while leading one of the most influential rap groups N.W.A, a lot of artists owe him a lot.

Eazy-E’s daughter, Erin Bria Wright, talked to TooFab about the documentary about Eazy-E’s life that’s under production at the moment and is expected to be released. While she said that people from all over the industry came forward for the interview and talked about their admiration for Eazy-E, Ice Cube was the only one who failed to show up.

The only thing I will say is honestly is, probably the only person who actually masters to the story I’m telling, who hasn’t talked on this so far, I’m being completely honest, is Ice Cube. and it’s weird to me seeing him do interviews like Club Shay Shay with Shannon Sharp, some athlete speaking about my father and the whole N.W.A history, but he hasn’t really done that for me and I’m Eazy-E’s daughter.

She said that while she has a good relationship with his children and also spoke to his eldest about convincing Ice Cube to do the interview, it didn’t get her anywhere close to getting Ice Cube on the documentary.

And, it really breaks my heart that, you know, he hasn’t spoken on this yet because I grew up with his sons and have a very good relationship with them. His oldest one I actually talk to him and I asked him to reach out, you know, talk to his dad and ask him to speak on this and he actually told me that Ice Cube was willing and he was gonna do whatever for me and he was down, and then, you know, since then whenever we tried to book him to do the interview, he’s been ducking and dodging.

She also said that while N.W.A focused very little on her father’s individual life and definitely didn’t focus on her father’s death and the circumstances that led to it at all, the documentary is all there is going to be based on Eazy-E’s unfortunate demise, which came soon after his diagnosis with AIDS.

There’s never been anything like this. You’re probably never gonna get anything like this ever again. And even Straight Outta Compton, it didn’t talk a lot about my father and it didn’t delve into my father’s life. It was about N.W.A as a collective, as a brotherhood, and it definitely didn’t focus on my father’s death and that’s what this documentary is.

While the documentary is well under-production, it would be great if Ice Cube decides to stop dodging the interview and finally spoke Eazy-E’s relationship with the rest of the group and some of the most triumphant moments of his life.
