Johnny Depp Explains Why He Doesn’t Miss Pirates of The Caribbean

The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is undoubtedly popular because of Johnny Depp. Without getting into too much detail, the Pirates of the Caribbean star is no longer associated with the franchise and reportedly doesn’t miss playing Captain Jack Sparrow because he carries the pirate with him every day.

On Friday, Johnny Depp attended the BCN Film Fest to promote his newest movie, Minamata. The actor admitted that he frequently travels with the Captain Jack costume, keeping the iconic fictional pirate close to him at all times when asked if he misses playing the pirate.

“No, I don’t miss it, because I have it every day, I always carry it with me, I travel with Captain Jack in my suitcase. I belong to Jack Sparrow and he is loyal to me.”

Depp clarified why he consistently carries around the Captain Jack costume with him. He explained that it’s to always keep the beloved Disney character on hold for children who may want to see him. Depp says that anytime he has the opportunity, he likes to visit children in hospitals and spend hours improvising in character as the pirate as revealed in many online posts.

As the petition to bring Depp back to the franchise is still on, we’re hopeful to see him return as our favorite pirate. Nonetheless, keeping the outfit around for entertaining young children is truly heartwarming.
