Actor Danny Masterson was meted with rape allegations last year and now he is claiming that the anti-Scientology campaign led by Leah Remini is a huge driving force behind the allegations in his ongoing case.
According to TMZ, as stated by the legal documentation, the “That ’70s Show” star has claimed that Remini has been influencing the prosecution and LAPD detectives in order to work against him. According to Masterson, it all started when he called her out for “religious bigotry” in 2016. It is to be noted that Remini left the Church of Scientology as well.
Masterson further claimed that Remini has urged three women, who have not been named, to make reports to the LAPD accusing him of sexual assault. He stated that the first woman made baseless allegations against him 12 years ago and the other two women he was romantically involved with didn’t come forward with their allegations until his trouble with Remini.
Masterson further stated that Remini guided the women as they spoke with prosecutors and even engaged in “correcting” their statements by interfering during the interviews. He also accused the prosecution of being “starstruck” by Remini and that she is very friendly with LAPD detectives.
This is certainly an interesting case and we will have to see how it will further progress. We will keep you updated on this ongoing case.
