Derek Chauvin held George Floyd down on the pavement with his knee in the back of the man’s neck until he was no longer living. That act sparked a nationwide outcry for social justice and police reform. Chauvin, the former cop responsible for this tragedy, saw his day in court today.

Chauvin was found guilty of 2nd degree murder, 3rd degree murder, and 2nd degree manslaughter. He was guilty of all counts.

Each member of the jury confirmed that guilty is their verdict. The judge then thanked the jury for “heavy duty jury service.”

The judge revealed that they will have sentencing in eight weeks. Chauvin’s bail has been revoked and he remains in custody.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
