Angelina Jolie took a step back from acting, but her return to the silver screen might come as a result of her split from Brad Pitt.
The Tomb Raider actress and her famous Fight Club star husband split up. She told Entertainment Weekly that she loves directing, but had to change her family situation after her separation. This caused her to take on shorter acting jobs so she could be home more often.
“I love directing, but I had a change in my family situation that’s not made it possible for me to direct for a few years. I needed to just do shorter jobs and be home more, so I kind of went back to doing a few acting jobs. That’s really the truth of it.”
Angelia Jolie directed four films in the past decade including In The Land of Blood and Honey, By The Sea, First They Killed My Father, and Unbroken. She has also appeared in seven films including some voiceover work for the Kung Fu Panda franchise.
Jolie is slated to star in the upcoming film Those Who Wish Me Dead, based on the Michael Koryta novel. She will play a smoke jumper named Hannah. We can probably expect more acting roles for Jolie as her career continues and she can focus more time on her family.
