Joe Exotic Accepts Carole Baskins & Husband’s Offer for Early Release from Prison

It has been over a year since Joe Exotic became a viral sensation and well-known name after Nextflix’s “Tiger King’ blew up during the pandemic.

The Tiger King star is still in prison at this moment but that could be changing soon as he seems to have accepted an offer from Carole Baskin.

Carole Baskin and her husband previously claimed that they would support Exotic’s early release from prison. Joe revealed to Entertainment Tonight that he will accept Baskin and her husband’s offer to get an early release from prison.

Baskin’s husband Howard explained the initial terms for their deal. Howard said that he would support Exotic’s release if Exotic supported the Big Cat Safety Act, a mandate that prohibits ownership of big cats such as lions and leopards.

“If he were to do that, it might position him in a positive way for a pardon. And frankly, I might be willing to go and urge at least a reduction in his sentence.”

It seems Exotic is more than open to accepting the deal, but he also has his own conditions in mind. Exotic gloated that he would testify to the House and Senate about the Act.

”It’s time to get an attorney general down here and listen to the evidence that I have to prove I’m innocent and get me the hell out of here. And they’ve got my support. Other than that, they need to stay the hell out of the news with all their crap just to get their name in the paper because I just called their bluff.”

Baskin also responded to Exotic’s acceptance of their offer as she took to Twitter and reacted to it.

So this just happened.

However, Baskin wasn’t all that sure on Exotic’s sincerity and wants legitimate proof that he will keep his end of the bargain.

“I wouldn’t seek a reduced sentence for Joe based upon him just saying he’d help end cub handling. I think he’d say anything, but not actually do it. He’d have to actually work with authorities to bring all of his buddies to justice and work with legislators to end cub handling.”

Exotic has spent two years in prison and is currently serving a 22-year sentence for a murder-for-hire plot towards Baskin and for multiple violations of wildlife laws. We will keep you updated on this ongoing case.
