Warner Bros have had to deal with a lot of bad PR after Man of Steel came out in 2013. With being significantly down the line and having several movies that are either critically panned or polarizing, maybe they’re rethinking their strategy in such a way that they can have more options.
While the new Mortal Kombat reboot is nearing its release date, Joe Taslim, the actor who plays Sub Zero talked to Variety and discussed whether the fans can expect a sequel for the video-game adaptation.
We don’t know if we’re gonna have a sequel — fingers crossed that we have a sequel. If this one’s successful, maybe we do more.
Even though there has been no announcement of any sequels, there’s a lot of buzz surrounding the reboot. The trailer for Mortal Kombat became the most watched Red Band trailer in history, leaving behind the likes of Deadpool 2 & Logan.
The fact that the movie is going to be R-rated with director Simon McQuoid stating that it’ll “push the [blood, gore, and fatalities] right to the limit”, the hyped is well deserved. The movies is releasing on April 23rd, and it’ll be available for 31 days on HBO Max.
