Tom Brady has spent over 20 years with New England, which is extremely impressive given the long timeframe, however, there is another player in the Buccaneers who might just shatter the record next year.
Backup quarterback to Tom Brady himself, Ryan Griffin, who’s signed a deal with the Buccaneers for one year recently, will have set a new longevity record if he manages to stay on the roster in 2021 as well.
The player will become the only Quarterback in the history of the Buccaneers to have lasted on the team for a total of 7 seasons. Given the quarterback history of the Buccaneers, it’s not very surprising.
It’s not as though the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hasn’t been trying to find the perfect quarterbacks for itself. After its own expansion in 1976, it recruited Vinny Testaverde and Jameis Winston, Heisman winners, while recruiting another one to be their starter, Steve Spurrier.
However, it just so happens that may players can’t stand the test of time with them, and in the entire history of the team, that problem has been the most frequent with the Quarterbacks.
