WBC Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury is undoubtedly one of the best professional boxers in the world right now and perhaps in the history of the sport. For quite some time now, Fury has been teasing a match against WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre, with Fury once stating that he is ready to face him ‘anytime’.
While speaking on the BBC Headliners podcast, Drew McIntyre was asked whether there was any chance of him facing Tyson Fury in a match. McIntyre stated that if the match made sense from a business perspective, and if WWE will host the match on pay-per-view in the UK, then he’d love to fight the Gypsy King.
“It’s very serious. It makes sense. That’s the thing, I can’t just book matches myself… I can only throw things out to the universe and see what goes down. But if it makes sense from a business perspective, and I personally think it does, Tyson Fury is very much on-board, I can tell by the banter… If he throws that right hand, I might go down. But I don’t care! As long as the event happens, I’ll say whatever it takes to get it going, get people talking.”
McIntyre had once said he’d knock Fury’s head off, so we will have to see if the two ever cross paths eventually.
