Nick Diaz is a true veteran in the MMA world and has not competed inside the Octagon for many years. Fans have been wondering he will ever make his UFC return and it seems Dana White has finally revealed details of his return. Nick Diaz was present in the audience at UFC 261 and it seems there is more to the story than initially thought.
While speaking at the UFC 261 post-fight press conference, UFC President Dana White told the media that he will be having a meeting with Nick Diaz and revealed that Diaz wants to make his return to the UFC.
“Nick wants to fight. Sure, (we’ll give him one). We’ll see how this goes. He’s waiting for me in the back right now. I’m going to go talk to him.”
White stated that he doesn’t know who Diaz’s opponent will be in his return fight but when White was asked if it would be crazy to consider Khamzat Chimaev as a potential opponent for Nick Diaz’s return fight, White simply said, ”No.”
Diaz hasn’t competed since 2015 when he fought former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva. His last win was a decade ago in 2011, over B.J. Penn. We will have to see who Diaz’s opponent will be when he makes his UFC return,
