Chadwick Boseman’s Family Reacts To Fans Outraged Over Oscar Snub

This year’s Oscars ceremony, like everything else, was very different from normal However, fans were still enthusiastic about it, more so because the late Chadwick Boseman had been nominated for the Best Actor award. Unfortunately, he did not win but his family is now shutting down fans who claim Boseman got snubbed from an Oscar while actually congratulating winner Anthony Hopkins.

According to TMZ, Derrick Boseman, Chadwick Boseman’s brother said that he doesn’t think Chadwick not winning an Oscar for Best Actor was a snub because every actor nominated in that category was excellent and deserving of the award. He also said that the family is definitely not upset or agitated in any way that Chadwick’s name wasn’t called at the end of the Oscars ceremony.

Derrick Boseman also congratulated the winner Hopkins on behalf of his family because he feels Hopkins would have done the same if Chadwick had won.

Derrick further added that his younger brother did not put too much value on the Oscars and that he always felt they were a “campaign”. Having said that, Derrick agreed that an Oscar would have been an achievement, but was never an obsession.

While many fans and celebrities did feel like Boseman was snubbed following his brilliant performance in his last movie “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”, we will still get to see him on screen doing what he does best on Dec 18.
