Avengers: Endgame was the culmination of an 11-year long story spanning through multiple films. At the heart of it was Robert Downey Jr. portraying Tony Stark/Iron Man. The film took place after the events of Avengers: Infinity War, which featured Thanos being successful in wiping out half of life in the universe with the snap.
In the end, Tony Stark gave his life in order to defeat Thanos, making for a very emotional moment. The Russo brothers wanted to draw a parallel between the Mad Titan and Tony’s experience by also giving the latter a Soulworld experience where he met a grown-up version of his daughter Morgan.
The scene was cut from the movie as it didn’t have the emotional impact that the filmmakers thought it would have. The scene would find its way on Disney + and now it seems Robert Downey Jr. has released behind-the-scenes footage of the aforementioned scene on the 2-year anniversary of the film.
Cannot believe it’s been two years since Endgame… #LoveYouAll3000
The film will go down as one of the best in the superhero genre and even though Robert Downey Jr. is done with the franchise, his legacy will live in in the franchise.
