Ryan Reynolds Gets Fan Backing For Johnny Cage Mortal Kombat Role

Move over The Miz, because Ryan Reynolds is also a viable name to take on the Johnny Cage role.

Johnny Cage didn’t make the new MK film. We’re not going to spoil anything, but he could be coming. We’re not even 100% certain that fans will see more Mortal Kombat films right now.

Fans all over have their own opinion about who they want to see cast in the next big blockbuster, and Mortal Kombat is no exception. We previously reported that The Miz wants the role, but plenty of fans would love to see Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds snag the part.

“Hopefully they cast someone other than Ryan Reynolds as Johnny Cage in the next MK movie,” one fan wrote, “nothing against the dude its just you know he’ll be the first choice, but one of the most appealing things about the new MK is that there were a lot of unknown, smaller or foreign actors.”

Another fan obviously knew that The Miz was really wanting the part as well. They tweeted out a pretty realistic version of what might end up happening. “They’d probably end up casting the Miz for Johnny Cage when I’d always pick Zachary Levi or Ryan Reynolds.”

We’ll wait on the casting decision for the next Mortal Kombat movie. That franchise does have other films in the plan, but we haven’t heard of any future installments getting green lit just yet. When that day comes there might be a pretty intense casting session to determine who plays Johnny Cage.
