Kodak Black has been able to avoid jail time in his sexual assault case which involves a teenage girl. He got away with probation.
ABC 15 reports the rapper, legal name Bill Kapri, was sentenced to 18 months probation after he pleaded guilty to first degree assault and battery, a lesser charge.
Kodak Black was initially indicted on a charge of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree. He faced up to 30 years behind bars if convicted, but the victim agreed to terms in a pea deal that Black accepted.
Now Black must get counseling as part of the agreement, and he must apologize to the girl who accused him of the 2016 rape.
At the time of the incident, Kodak Black’s victim alleged that the rape took place inside a hotel room after a Florence, South Carolina concert. The arrest warrant said that Black “forced the victim onto the bed in the room and then onto the floor of the room … The [defendant] removed the victim’s underwear.” She repeatedly told him to stop while he was forcing himself into her.
Now that case is behind him, if he sticks to the terms of his agreement.
