Britney Spears, most often revered as the benchmark pop-stars of the 2000s and the 2010s, has had a very shaky trajectory while handling her fame. The popstar has had several public mental breakdowns throughout her career, and more details from her controversial past are popping up now.
Spears’ father, Jamie Spears, 68, had ticked a box which stated “dementia placement or treatment” as one of the reasons for validating his’s takeover of the popstar’s estate.
The estate’s takeover was in works in 2008. All this came to light through a new Britney Spears documentary that is soon to be released. Titled “The Battle for Britney,” the BBC documentary will uncover many such controversial instances and discuss them in great detail.
The conservatorship was started off by her father in 2007, when the popstar had the highly-publicized mental breakdown. As per the journalist Mobeen Azhar, either the dementia was faked, or there’s some truth to it. He stated in the document that:
There’s only two options with that. Britney might have dementia. Now I’m not a doctor but if that’s the case, then the world isn’t aware of that. But the other option is actually more sinister.
The #FreeBritney Movement, which has been active for quite a while in pursuing the removal of Jamie Spears from the conservatorship, is motivated by members who think that Britney is being controlled by the conservatorship against her own accord.
The Britney Spears BBC Documentary “The Battle For Britney” will be made available in the US and Canada on May 11th. Stay tuned for more and let us know what you think about the #FreeBritney Movement down below in the comments.
