CEO of Tesla Motors and business tycoon Elon Musk certainly needs no introduction. A few weeks ago, NASA awarded Elon Musk’s SpaceX a lucrative contract to get astronauts to the moon by 2024. As reported earlier, Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin had a problem with this.
Blue Origins also released a statement last week where they accused NASA of carrying out a “flawed acquisition.” Now it seems this has resulted in a decision that Elon Musk won’t be happy about.
According to The Verge, SpaceX will now have to wait before the contract is finalized. Until the complaints filed by Blue Origin and Dynetics are dealt with, SpaceX will not be receiving any funding.
“Pursuant to the GAO protests, NASA instructed SpaceX that progress on the HLS contract has been suspended until GAO resolves all outstanding litigation related to this procurement.”
Currently, it is not known exactly how long the GAO process will take. We will keep you updated on this ongoing story.
