‘Jeopardy!’ remains a classic game show that remains loved by fans all over. Last year in November, longtime host of the show Alex Trebek passed away at the age of 80 after a very long battle with pancreatic cancer.
After his passing, it was announced that the show would get a series of guest hosts such as Aaron Rogers, Dr. Oz, and Anderson Cooper until a permanent host would be announced for the trivia show. Now it seems a host will be announced soon enough.
According to a report by ETCanada, producer for the show Mike Richards will name its permanent host around Summer of this year. Explaining that it “will all come down to testing” with the top executives at Sony Entertainment, Richards stated that the process has been extensive and said, “It’s unlike anything I’ve ever been a part of, as far as testing in its size and scope”.
The show is slated to start filming its new season in July or early August and will have its official host in place. Most of the guests have not lived up to the show’s standards and due to that, the ratings for the show have dipped quite a bit.
It is not known who will be the permanent host for the show, but whoever it will be, they will have very large shoes to fill as Alex Trebek was truly an amazing host who had a great impact on his audience members, contestants, and fans
