Elon Musk made headlines with his SNL hosting gig and it also helped out the program in a big way. Tons of fans tuned in to see what all of the controversy was all about as SNL brought their first non-entertainer host in since Trump.
The May 8th episode of Saturday Night Live with Elon Musk as host generated a 4.8 household rating and a 2.7 in the coveted 18-49 demographic according to Neilson.
That number is behind Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle, but plenty of fans tuned in to see Musk, for sure. That episode also marked the first time that an SNL episode was streamed in over 100 countries on YouTube.
The last live episode of SNL on April 10th with Carey Mulligan as host generated 3.6 million viewers. Obviously, the extra hype that Elon Musk generated paid off.
