The sequel to 2018’s Venom, titled ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ has been a highly-anticipated film since its announcement. The film was originally going to be released in 2020 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sony has finally dropped the first trailer for the upcoming film, much to the delight of fans. The main antagonist of the film will be Carnage, portrayed by Woody Harrelson.
Harrelson had a brief cameo in the first Venom movie after the credits rolled. His character, Cletus Cassidy will get a symbiote of his own and eventually face off against Tom Hardy’s Venom in the sequel film.
Cletus’ red symbiote, named Carnage, is far more powerful than Venom as it has the ability to shape his limbs and tendrils into weapons and sharp objects. The new trailer shows off Carnage’s destructive power in its full glory.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage is set to release on September 24, 2021. It is interesting to note that the sequel will be releasing before Spider-Man: No Way Home, which will release on December 17, 2021. Perhaps fans might get to see a definite connection between the two films.
