Adam Sandler is undoubtedly a veteran actor in Hollywood and was a comedy icon for many back in the 90s. Last month, Sandler made the news for an amusing reason as he was turned away by an IHOP hostess.
Many fans wondered how Adam Sandler would react to the incident. Of course, those who have a good idea how Sandler is in real life knew the outcome. Sandler would make a hilarious joke about the incident and wasn’t offended by it at all.
Now it seems IHOP has decided to make the most out of the Adam Sandler incident in a big way. According to New York Post, IHOP likely wants to make amends, or simply just make a good buck out of the incident by unveiling their Milkshake Monday promotion on May 10.
It is promised that $1 will be donated for every IHOP milkshake purchased on Monday, up to $50,000, to the nonprofit Comedy Gives Back. The organization is a sort of safety net for the comedic entertainment community.
Sandler has ties with the organization as he headlined their virtual Laugh Aid fund-raising event in 2020 to support struggling comedians during the COVID-19 pandemic. On top of that, IHOP is also hosting an All-You-Can-Drink milkshakes daylong special at the chain’s 19 Long Island location, starting from Monday noon.
This was certainly a nice initiative taken by IHOP to make a viral incident into something profitable and also charitable for everyone involved.
