UFC Fires Becky Lynch’s Ex Boyfriend Luke Sanders & 4 Others

UFC has a loaded roster and they needed to trim some people. They’ve gone through a few rounds of releases and now we can add five more to the list.

Luke Sanders and four others were fired from the UFC. These cuts could be different with it comes to contracts. Some might have been a decision to not renew a contract. In other cases it could be a release from the roster.

Sanders’ release is the most notable. He had a 13-5 record in MMA at the time of his departure. His last fight was on May 1st against Felipe Colares which was a loss. He is also known in the pro wrestling world as Becky Lynch’s ex boyfriend. She attended a few of his fights while they were together.

Anthony Birchak was also a name on the cut list. That wraps up his career with the UFC with a 2-2 record.

Aalon Cruz was also part of the cuts today. He entered UFC as part of their contender’s series. He wraps up his UFC career with a 8-4 record in MMA. Now he is a free agent once again.

Jordan Griffin lost four of his last five promotional fights. He was also on the cut list today. He has been with UFC since 2018. Ray Rodriguez was also part of the cuts today.

The MMA scene is very competitive and the UFC always needs to pay attention to their roster size. Dana White said in December 2020 that they will likely be cutting a lot of fighters in 2021, and that has come to pass.
