Anthony Johnson got into some trouble with the law after Bellator 258. Now he’s facing some charges for something he allegedly did in 2019.

The Daily Voice reports The New Canaan Police picked up Johnson on Saturday and he is now facing multiple charges of identity theft. According to the report, the arrest is over a November 2019 complaint where the victim claimed that “their credit card was being used by a third party without permission.” That accused person was Johnson.

That purchase in question was used to buy round trip tickets to Fort Lauderdale to Newark. Johnson’s name was on the ticket.

After a police investigation, it was determined that Johnson, who lives in Deerfield Beach, Florida, “illegally obtained (the) credit card to purchase the airline ticket.” An arrest warrant was then issued and he was put in cuffs eighteen months later.

Police took him in at the Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, one night after he knocked out Jose Augusta to advance in Bellator’s light heavyweight grand prix semifinals. That was quite a bad bit of luck, but authorities obviously knew where he was going to be.

Johnson was released on a $500 bond and received a June 8th court date. We will continue monitoring this ongoing story.
