Jay-Z is undoubtedly one of the most popular and legendary rappers in the Hip-Hop world. On top of his musical prowess, he is also a smart businessman and is worth over a billion dollars for good reason.
Now it seems Jay-Z will be going down in record books as he is set to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame on his first year of eligibility.
John Sykes, chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, talked about the 2021 Hall Of Fame class on Wednesday.
“This diverse class of talented inductees reflects the Hall’s ongoing commitment to honor artists whose music created the sound of youth culture. It will make for an unforgettable live celebration of music in October at this year’s Induction Ceremony in Cleveland.”
The 2021 Rock Hall performers class also includes the likes of The Go-Go’s, Carole King, Tina Turner, Todd Rundgren, and Foo Fighters.
In order to be eligible for the Hall Of Fame, artists need to have released their first record 25 years ago. Several factors are taken into consideration including length and depth of career, body of work, and innovation and superiority in style and technique.
This is certainly a huge honor for Jay-Z, who has been one of the biggest influences in the Hip-Hop world for several years.
