Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is one of the all-time greats in the world of professional basketball. James suffered a very nasty injury to his right ankle in the Lakers’ game against the Atlanta Hawks back in March and despite making a return, James simply hasn’t been the same since the injury.
James missed out the most games of his career due to the injury and his form isn’t the best either. After the regular season wrapped up on Sunday, James talked about the injury and also had some harsh words for the person who injured him – Solomon Hill.
The Hawks player slid into LeBron James while diving for a ball, resulting in the injury. James lamented on the situation and the injury that ultimately took a lot from it, adding that he still isn’t comfortable with it.
“It’s been hard to tackle it. I was playing some of the best basketball of my career before the injury. It was not a self-inflicted wound or something I could control. It wasn’t like I wasn’t putting in the work and then my body failed me. I literally had a grown man diving at my leg for a loose ball.
I had to pay the price of that and take my time to get my ankle to where it is today where I’m able to be back on the floor. It cost me seven weeks of the season that I still think back on and hate it. I’m still not comfortable with it.”
The Los Angeles Lakers certainly felt the weight of LeBron James not being able to play as reflected in their performance for this season. We certainly hope James will be able to get back to form eventually.
