Lamborghini continues to be one of the best brands when it comes to luxury cars and now it seems it plans on kicking the competition to the curb. The brand currently has a new “transformation plan” with respect to its first fully electric car.
While speaking during a press release on Tuesday, Stephan Winkelmann, who is the president and CEO Automobili Lamborghini talked about the company’s plan for its first-ever fully electric car, promising that their own version of an electric car will remain faithful to the brand’s heart and soul while also striving for a better future.
“Lamborghini has always been synonymous with preeminent technological expertise in building engines boasting extraordinary performance: this commitment will continue as an absolute priority of our innovation trajectory.
Today’s promise, supported by the largest investment plan in the brand’s history, reinforces our deep dedication to not only our customers, but also to our fans, our people and their families, as well as to the territory where the company was born in Emilia-Romagna and to Made in Italy excellence.”
The first phase of Lamborghini’s current strategy will begin in 2022 and will be focusing on a celebration of the combustion engine, with two new cars in the V12 model lineup, which is expected to be announced later this year.
When it comes to the second phase, Lamborghini plans on having a completed transition to hybrid by 2024. It was also stated that by the year 2030, Lamborghini will unveil its first fully-electric vehicle.
Lamborghini is set to invest a lot of money in the transformation plan, as they plan on spending 1.8 billion dollars over four years as revealed by a company representative. With a lot of foresight and clear planning, it is likely Lamborghini will achieve great success with their first-ever electric car. We will have to see how it will turn out to be by 2030.
